1st Period ( English Language) Topic ( Subject and Predicate)

1)The Subject refers to the person or thing that does the action.

Eg. The Earth goes around the sun.

Raj bought milk in the jug.

Our house is close to the market,

2)The Predicate refers to the Verb and the rest of the sentence to complete the meaning.

Eg The boy will go for a class picnic.

Mrs.Smith is an intelligent woman.

Underline the Subject and circle the Predicate

1) The old man is sitting on the chair.
2) The Ganga is the holy river of Hindus.
3) The postman brings letters everyday.
4)Mark has a good handwriting.
5)Mrs Verma likes dogs.

6) Saturn- its rings are made of ice.
7) Uranus- coldest planet in the Solar System.
8) Napturn- an icy giant.
